Get Out: 2017

Because of the horror genre, I truly disliked this film. I despise being terrified. However, the movie was well-made. There was foreshadowing, and the acting and plot were both solid It is a more thought-provoking film than others I've seen. Get Out expertly induces a sense of dread and unease through the use of psychological fear and suspense. The film succeeds in being eerie while still containing dark humor.

However, the ending was satisfying. Chris reminded me of John Wick taking out enemies. Seeing the evildoers brought to justice felt good. The film had an original plot which was refreshing. The nose bleeding scene reminded me of Eleven in Stranger Things. It featured an original story that I had never seen before and touched upon racial injustice a lot. In my perspective, the film is a 7/10. I would have given it a higher rating if it had been less scary.
